By using arfid-meals ("the Service") you agree to the Terms of Use below. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
About
arfid-meals helps people with ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) or food intolerances build meals around what they can't or won't eat, rather than assuming they can eat anything. It combines a database of raw ingredients and market products with nutrition and allergen information, a database of meals built from those, and a personal black/white list you can set at the level of a whole food group, a specific food, or a specific way that food is prepared.
The single most important thing on this page
This Service does not know your medical history, and cannot verify that any ingredient, product, or meal it shows you is actually safe for you. Nutrition and allergen data comes from public databases and, for raw ingredients, from automated name-based matching (see "Where our data comes from," below) — both can be incomplete or wrong. Before eating anything based on what this Service shows you, you must independently check for yourself that it is safe for your own condition, allergies, and intolerances. This applies every time, not just the first time — treat every page as a suggestion to verify, never as a guarantee.
Where our data comes from
- Raw ingredient data (e.g. "chicken breast, raw") comes from the USDA FoodData Central database (US government, public domain). Its allergen and gluten/lactose flags are generated by matching keywords in the ingredient's name — reliable for a single named ingredient, but a best-effort match, not a laboratory test.
- Branded product data (e.g. a specific packaged product available in Czechia) comes from Open Food Facts, a crowdsourced, openly-licensed (Open Database License) database. Its allergen tags are declared by contributors and can be incomplete, even for products that obviously contain a given allergen — an empty allergen list on a product is not a guarantee it's free of that allergen.
- Meals are composed by the Service's operator from the ingredients and products above; their nutrition totals are calculated automatically from those components' own data and inherit the same limitations.
Privacy — how your data is used
What we collect
- Your email address and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), to operate your account.
- Your black/white list (the food groups, ingredients, products, and preparation notes you choose to exclude or include). This is self-declared information you choose to enter to make the Service useful to you — it is not a medical record, and the Service does not ask why you've excluded something. Depending on what you enter, this information could nonetheless reveal something about your health, religious practice, or other personal circumstances; we handle it with the same care as the rest of your account data and do not use it for anything beyond generating meal suggestions for you.
- Meals you create, if your account has been given that permission, including their name, description, ingredients, and any preparation steps or safety notes you write.
- One authentication cookie, readable only by our server
(
httpOnly), that keeps you signed in. - One cookie for your interface language (English or Czech), containing nothing but a language code.
- Standard web server request logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp), kept only as long as needed for security and abuse investigation — never used for tracking, profiling, or advertising.
What we don't do
- No analytics, no advertising trackers, no third-party scripts of any kind loaded into any page.
- We never sell, rent, or share your account data or your black/white list with anyone.
How long we keep it
Your account and everything attached to it (your black/white list, and any meals you've created) is kept for as long as your account exists.
Known gap, disclosed rather than hidden: the Service does not yet have a self-service way to delete your account or export your data. Until it does, contact info@julienika.cz to request either, and it will be handled manually.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to how it's used. Contact info@julienika.cz for any request — see the known gap above regarding deletion in the meantime.
If you're a parent or guardian
This Service does not currently verify the age of the person using it. If you are managing an account on behalf of a minor, the rights and responsibilities in this document apply to you as the account holder.
Terms of use
- What the Service is. A tool for browsing nutrition/allergen data and building meals around a personal exclusion list. It is not a medical device, is not a substitute for medical or dietary advice from a qualified professional, and does not diagnose, treat, or manage any condition.
- Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for verifying that any ingredient, product, or meal shown by the Service is safe for you before consuming it, every time — see "The single most important thing on this page," above.
- Accounts. You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for anything done through your account.
- Meal content. Any meal, description, or preparation step available on the Service reflects what the operator (or another permitted account) entered — verify it the same way you'd verify anything else on the Service.
- No warranty. The Service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including no guarantee of availability, uptime, or the accuracy or completeness of any nutrition, allergen, or other data.
- Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including any harm arising from relying on its nutrition or allergen information without independently verifying it. Use the Service at your own risk.
- Acceptable use. Don't use the Service to harass anyone, to enter deliberately false or misleading meal/ingredient data, or in any way that violates applicable law.
- Changes. These terms, and the Service itself, may change at any time. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the update.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
